Speech Recognition - the ultimate artificial intelligence
Dragon Medical Practice Edition 4 offers even more speech recognition accuracy. Deep learning and neural networks mimic the way the human brain recognises and learns patterns and allows the software to continuously adapt to the user’s voice pattern, dialect and accent. The ambient acoustics of the user’s environment is also taken into account helping automatically refine performance to remain precise and accurate even when dictating in noisy clinic situations.
Transcribe immediately & accurately into any PC application
Physicians and other health care providers navigate and dictate medical decision-making and treatment plans directly into a patient’s electronic record, email, or template and spend less time typing or clicking. Doctors can document patient stories more completely for improved documentation.
Dragon Medical Practice Edition 4 speeds clinician productivity and improves practice management / electronic hospital health records software usability when Doctors create documentation with dictation and voice commands—three times faster than most people can type or click with a mouse. Doctors build a personalized experience available across workstations by setting auto-formatting options and using a single voice command to create customized auto-texts for frequently dictated content. A movable DragonBar provides easy access to popular features and automatically collapses when not in use.
Superior speech recognition designed specifically for medical use
Dragon Medical Practice Edition 4 combines 90 medical speciality and sub-speciality vocabularies with acoustic models based on the unique way physicians speak—audio, syntax, style and structure—resulting in remarkable accuracy. Advanced Deep Learning technology constantly learns and adapts to voice and environmental variations—even during dictation—continuously improving performance.
Optimised for touch-screens
Along with high performance on modern desktop and laptop Windows computers, Dragon Medical Practice Edition delivers documentation productivity on the go through compatibility with Windows 10 touchscreen devices. Hybrid touch and keyboard interaction work seamlessly for controlling the DragonBar and other features.
NB: It is important to note that Dragon Medical can not run on the iPad etc. A Windows operating system must be installed. If you wish to utilise a tablet-style device we recommend considering something similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro. As will all software please check the specifications of your computer to ensure they meet the criteria required for Dragon Medical.
Licensed per author - not per computer
Dragon Medical now allows you to install the software wherever you work. Desktop, laptop on a Terminal Server - at home, your practice or the hospital - all with the one license. You can even install Dragon Medical on your typist's computer for 3rd party transcription.
A wide selection of microphones and recorders
Not all microphones are created equal and there are no "one-size-fits-all". Selecting the right kind of microphone to suit how you dictate, where you dictate and what applications you dictate into is can make all the difference when it comes to your speech recognition accuracy.
Microphones should be noise-cancelling - preferably with noise-isolating features - and designed with speech recognition in mind.
It is also important to consider what your main objective is for speech recognition when selecting your microphone style. For example, if you are wanting to dictate directly into and navigate around a template or practise management software - you may wish to consider a USB Dictation Microphone such as the Philips SpeechMike Premium or the new wireless SpeechMIke Premium Air which was designed specifically for use with speech recognition.
There are many different styles of microphones that can be used for speech recognition, including; handheld microphones with navigation control (such as SpeechMike Premium), portable dictation recorders - ideal for off-line speech recognition (such as the new Philips SpeechAir) and of course headset microphones for those who require a hands-free way of working.
